Mrs. Gliceria R. Tantoco, together with Mrs. Carmencita T. Lopez, opened the first Rustan’s Flower Shop in 1971 amidst the Flower Power Frenzy – a timely coincide that signaled a favorable omen to the Stores.

In a few years, with the help of Mrs. Nena V. Tantoco, RFS has built expertise and expanded its scope of operations and services, flourishing from a mere department into a full-blown company.

In 1995, under the management of Mrs. Carmencita T. Lopez, RFS was integrated with Rustan’s Department Store, enabling further growth.

In 2000, after its spin-off from Rustan’s Department Store, RFS became an independent entity as Rustan Design Specialists, Inc.
